OSI-CAN provides Peer Support Groups for our target demographic; Military and Public Safety Personnel. Occupational Stress Injuries / Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can occur when a person directly experiences or witnesses a traumatic event. This can also happen with repeated exposure to traumatic situations and details.

In addition to our Peer Support Groups for our professional demographics, OSI-CAN aims to provide support group resources to those that are closest to our frontline protectors. We know that it is not only the individual that is fighting hard to recover, and that members of their family or close friends are also helping to fight this battle with them. And you need support, too.

That's where OSI-CAN Family and Friends Groups come in.

Just like our Peer Groups, our Family and Friends Groups are also led by trained facilitators with the lived experience of being closely connected to one of our professional demographics, recovering from an OSI (Occupational or Operation Stress Injury) more commonly known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is a group where you can come together with other adults who understand your part in this journey. This meeting is focused on YOU and an opportunity to share resources and your own experiences where you don't have to explain the back story. The traumatic experience(s) is different for every person, however, where we are similar is in the journey afterwards.

Truly Peer Support at its finest.
